Pros and cons

Strengths

  • Low entry price: Lite at US$14 per seat per month billed annually
  • 14-day free trial on every plan, no credit card required
  • Growth adds email sync, automations with if/else steps, sequences and forecasting
  • API access, webhooks and single sign-on are listed on every plan
  • Premium bundles LeadBooster, Projects and Smart Docs, which are add-ons on lower plans

Limitations

  • No free plan
  • Lite lacks email sync and automation, so most teams need Growth or above
  • Lead capture, projects, documents and web visitor tracking cost extra below Premium
  • Marketing is limited to the Campaigns add-on rather than a full marketing suite
  • Plan names, limits and prices changed in 2026, so older reviews may be out of date

What is Pipedrive?

Pipedrive is a sales CRM organised around customizable deal pipelines. Reps see deals as cards moving through stages, with activities and emails attached to each deal. It is sold per seat in four plans (Lite, Growth, Premium and Ultimate), with extra tools such as lead capture, projects and email campaigns available as add-ons.

Pipedrive’s knowledge base notes that it launched new plan tiers, names and limits in 2026. Older reviews may quote different plans and prices.

Who should use Pipedrive?

  • Business size: small and mid-sized sales teams.
  • Team type: teams whose work is mostly moving deals forward, rather than running marketing campaigns or a support desk in the same tool.
  • Technical experience: low. Pipelines and stages can be set up without an administrator. API access and webhooks are available on every plan for teams that want to connect other tools.
  • Budget: entry pricing is low, but most sales teams will want Growth or above for email sync and automation.

Features and capabilities

Lite: pipelines and the core CRM

Pipedrive’s plan comparison lists customizable pipelines, calendar view and activity management, an Insights dashboard, data import and export, API access, webhooks, mobile apps and single sign-on on Lite.

Growth: email and automation

Growth adds email sync, templates, tracking and scheduling, group emailing, automations with delay and if/else steps, sequences, a forecast view, a meeting scheduler and live chat support. For most sales teams this is the practical starting plan.

Premium and Ultimate: lead capture, AI and governance

Premium includes LeadBooster, Projects and Smart Docs (add-ons on lower plans), plus required and formula fields, automatic assignment, AI email creation and summaries, custom permissions and visibility groups, custom scoring, organisation data enrichment, a team inbox and phone support. Ultimate adds contact data enrichment, security alerts and security rules.

Integrations

Pipedrive’s pricing page cites 500+ integrations in its marketplace and says every plan works with AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT through MCP.

  • Setup: define pipeline stages first, then import deals and contacts. The trial allows inviting colleagues, so test with the whole team.
  • Add-on planning: if you need inbound lead capture or document workflows, compare the cost of add-ons on Growth with simply buying Premium, which includes them.

Should you shortlist Pipedrive?

Shortlist Pipedrive if your team lives in the sales pipeline, you want a CRM reps can adopt without an admin, and you do not need marketing automation in the same system.

Look elsewhere if you want a free plan (consider HubSpot or Zoho CRM), or sales and marketing must share one platform (consider HubSpot).
